Filtering Domain Search Results in the Control Panel

The Reseller Control Panel lets you search your domain portfolio by name and narrow the results with Advanced Filtering. Filters let you display only the domains that match criteria such as TLD, status, verification status, creation or expiry date, and per-domain settings. Use them to find a specific group of domains quickly, then act on or export that group.

About searching and filtering

A search matches all or part of a domain name, while Advanced Filtering restricts the displayed list by the values in one or more columns. Filtering pairs well with exporting: narrow the list first, then export only the domains you need. See Exporting Domain Information.

Step 1: Search for a domain

Find domains in your portfolio by name.

  1. Sign in to the Control Panel and click Domains.
  2. In the text field, enter all or part of the domain name you want to find, then click Search. You can use wildcard characters to represent part of the name.
  3. Click a domain name to view or edit its associated information.

Step 2: Apply Advanced Filtering

Restrict the displayed list by one or more sets of criteria.

  1. In the Domains section, click Advanced Filtering to display the search criteria.
  2. Select or clear the checkboxes for the criteria you want to include. A checked box means domains matching that criterion are displayed.

For gTLD, ccTLD, Verification Status, and Status, click All to select every option or None to clear them. By default, all statuses are displayed except Expired (Redemption) and the archived statuses (Cancelled, Declined, Deleted, Transfer In Cancelled, and Transferred Away).

Warning: If you clear all statuses, no domains are displayed at all. Leave at least one status selected.

Filtering by TLD

To restrict your search to particular extensions, use the checkboxes in the gTLD and ccTLD sections. When a box is checked, only domains matching the selected TLDs appear in the results.

Filtering by verification status

As part of an ICANN process, registrants must verify the contact information used to register generic top-level domains. Filter by where each domain sits in that process:

Verification status

Meaning

Unverified

The verification process has not been initiated.

Pending

Verification has been initiated and the validation email will be sent.

Verifying

Verification has been initiated and is awaiting the registrant's response.

Verified

The registrant has been verified.

Suspended

The registrant failed verification and the domain has been suspended.

Manual Review

The registrant data has been submitted and is being validated manually by the Tucows compliance team.

Filtering by status

Filter by the registration status of each domain. When a box is checked, only domains with the selected statuses appear:

Status

Meaning

Active

Domain registration is complete.

Draft

Registration was saved as a draft but not submitted for processing.

Pending

An error during processing requires attention, such as insufficient funds, or an action such as an approval is required. Domains pending for more than 30 days with no activity are automatically cancelled.

Waiting

The registration is waiting for an external process, usually for asynchronous registrations.

Renewal Pending / Renewal Waiting

A renewal is waiting for an external process, usually through asynchronous registries.

Transfer In Requires Admin Action

The transfer-in request awaits confirmation from the admin contact.

Transfer In Requires Owner Action

An inbound transfer awaits approval or decline by the administrative contact.

Transfer In Requires Registry Action

An inbound transfer awaits approval by the TLD registry.

Landrush Registration Pending

A landrush registration awaits registry approval.

Sunrise Registration Pending

A sunrise registration awaits registry approval.

In Expiration Grace Period

The domain has expired but is in the registry's grace period and can still be renewed.

Transferred Away Pending

An outbound transfer to another registrar is in process.

Expired (Redemption)

The domain expired and was not renewed during the redemption period.

Cancelled

The registration was cancelled.

Declined

The registration, renewal, or transfer was declined by the registry.

Filtering by date

To restrict the list by when domains were created or expire, use the Created or Expires section. Click the field and use the From and To calendars to choose a date range, or pick a period from the Show Everything drop-down list.

Tip: In the pop-up calendar, double-click the displayed year to jump between months, and double-click the month name to jump between years.

Filtering by settings

To restrict the list to domains with a particular setting, use the checkboxes in the Settings section. To ignore a setting, select both On and Off (the default).

Setting

Meaning

Storefront Managed

The domain is managed through Storefront.

Contact Privacy

A WHOIS lookup does not display the owner's identity (address, phone, email).

Domain Locked

Transfers and DNS modifications are blocked until the domain is unlocked.

Let Expire

The domain expires at the end of its registration period. Applies only when the domain is set to expire with notifications.

Domain Parked

The domain displays a customized page with contextual ads that earn revenue for the registrant.

Auto Renew

The domain renews automatically 30 days before its expiration date.
