Trust Customer Messaging

Trust customer messages are the transactional emails that the OpenSRS Messaging Platform sends when a customer orders, processes, or renews a trust product such as an SSL certificate, SiteLock, or a malware scan. This article explains how to access, enable, and edit these messages, and lists each message available by product type.

About trust customer messages

The Messaging Platform is the OpenSRS tool that sends branded transactional emails to your customers and resellers, including renewal notices, order confirmations, and trust product notifications. Trust customer messages are the subset of templates that fire in response to events on trust products.

Each message has an Active indicator. A checkmark in the Active column means the message is enabled and will be sent when its trigger occurs. Removing the checkmark disables the message. A greyed-out checkbox means the message is mandatory and cannot be disabled.

Warning: This article references TRUSTe (discontinued in 2015) and GeoTrust-branded products (consumer brands discontinued by DigiCert on September 30, 2020). The list of trust messages below should be reviewed against the current Messaging Platform.

Access trust customer messages

  1. From the gear menu at the top of the Reseller Control Panel, click New Messaging.
  2. Filter or scroll the message list to find the trust product category you want to manage.
  3. Click a link in the Message Name column to open the message in the Editing Message page.

Edit a trust customer message

The Editing Message page lets you review and, where permitted, change the content of a message.

  • Use the Enabled checkbox to enable or disable the message. A greyed-out checkbox means the message is mandatory.
  • Edit the text in any of the editable fields.
  • Use the Tab Legend section to insert a variable tag. Place your cursor in the field where you want the tag and click the add tag icon next to the variable you want to use.

Note: Some messages have non-editable text required by the vendor or certificate authority. Editable status is listed in each table below.
