Consent Management Messaging

This article lists the email templates that OpenSRS uses to manage end-user consent for GDPR-related data processing. Each template has a specific trigger and audience. Use this reference to understand which template a registrant received and why, and to customize the messaging in the Reseller Control Panel.

Sent nightly to asynchronous TLD contacts who have not yet provided the required consent to proceed with the order. Continues nightly for 10 days.

GDPR Initial Consent Request - Asynchronous

IMPORTANT: Action Required to Complete your Order

Sent when an asynchronous domain is registered or transferred and the contact has not previously consented for that TLD.

GDPR Initial Consent Request - Synchronous

Set your data use consent preferences

Sent when a synchronous domain is registered or transferred and the contact has not previously consented for that TLD.

Updated Product Consent Request

URGENT: Review and update your data use preferences

Sent when the legal basis of data elements used for a TLD that already has consent on file changes from contract or N/A to consent.

How to customize a template

You can customize each template in the Reseller Control Panel under your messaging settings.

Next steps

  • Audit each template against your brand voice. Open every consent-related template in the Reseller Control Panel and confirm subject lines, sender names, and body content match your brand standards.

  • Map templates to your support playbooks. When a registrant contacts your support team about a consent email, your team should be able to identify which template the registrant received from this list.
