Your OpenSRS reseller account password expires every six months for improved security. The Reseller Control Panel shows a notice indicating how many days remain before your password expires, so you can update it before losing access. If your password has already expired, use the Forgot password link to regain access.
When and why you reset your password
OpenSRS requires password rotation every six months on reseller accounts. As the expiry date approaches, the Reseller Control Panel displays a countdown so you can update your credentials proactively. You can change your password from the Account settings tab while you still have access, or trigger a reset email if you are locked out.
Before you begin
Confirm you have access to the email address linked to your reseller account.
Know your current Reseller Control Panel password.
Have a new password ready that meets OpenSRS password requirements.
If you are already locked out, follow the Forgot password flow instead. See FAQ on Reseller Account Password Reset.
Step 1: Open your account settings
Log in to the Reseller Control Panel and click the Account settings tab.
Step 2: Edit your user settings
Under User settings, click Edit to open the password change form.
Step 3: Enter your current and new passwords
Type your current password, then enter the new password you want to set on your account.
Note: Your new password must meet the OpenSRS character requirements. See Character Restrictions and Requirements in the Reseller Control Panel for supported characters.
Step 4: Save the change
Click Save to update your password. The new password takes effect on your next login.
Next steps
Set a calendar reminder. Schedule a recurring reminder every five months so you can update your password before it expires.
Enable two-factor authentication. Add a second layer of security after resetting your password. See Two-Factor Authentication Setup for Reseller Accounts.
Verify your linked email address. Keep the email on file current so future reset emails reach you.
